Sacramento Heart and Vascular is an established Clinic with a mission focused on offering excellent patient care. Our office is located in the lovely Campus Commons area in Sacramento, CA and we are seeking a qualified Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team of professionals.
Under general supervision, will perform diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures and care for patients following established policies and protocols. While maintaining patient confidentiality, will exhibit a high degree of courtesy, tact, and poise when interacting with patients, families and healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Administer radiopharmaceuticals by performing venous injections of nuclear radioactive isotopes.
Preparation and hook up for stress testing.
Perform treadmill stress test; administer stress pharmaceuticals, monitor patients.
Maintain quality control on all nuclear medicine instrumentation and completion of appropriate documentation.
Safely handle radioactive materials and associated documentation.
Maintain proper inventory receipts and dispose of radioactive materials.
Order radiopharmaceuticals for patient procedures and quality control
Work with medical staff to evaluate test methods and coordinate patient scheduling
Obtain relevant information from patient clinical record. Record information on patient charts.
Maintain accreditation standards for department.
Write technical reports. Deliver test results to cardiologist for interpretation and forward test results to referring physician.
Maintain department records, reports, and files as directed.
Perform quality assurance procedures on the equipment on a daily basis, as required.
Ensure compliance with radioactive materials licensure requirements.
Attend required meetings and participate in committees, as requested.
Participate in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations and state and national licenses.
Minimum one year of experience in Nuclear Medicine.
AS in Nuclear Medicine required
Completion of EKG course or one year of on-the-job-training.
California Department of Health Services Certified Technologist, Nuclear Medicine
NMTCB national license registered by NMTCB or ARRT certified
